The child develops best at home
The official, often repeated truth is that preschool children enjoy being in kindergarten and playing with their peers. They learn many new skills, cooperation and principles governing social contacts, they become more independent and self-confident. The same confirms the teachers of grades I-III, emphasizing that there is a huge difference between children after pre-school education and those who were looked after by mother / grandmother / nanny at home.
However, not all parents agree with this. There are many who are of the opinion that in the first years of life, the child feels best in the home environment and has time to go to "people". They argue their opinion, for example, with the trauma experienced by many children sent to kindergartens. Crying, hysteria or rebellion are for them confirmation that the child is too young for such a long separation from their parents. And it is not worth rushing to empower your child.
I don't trust the kindergarten ladies
Often, the child is not sent to kindergarten for fear of lack of control over what happens after closing the door of the kindergarten room. The situation is most difficult in the youngest groups, where children often do not share what was happening in kindergarten. Toddlers have a problem in distinguishing between real information and the creation of their own imagination, which unfortunately makes it difficult for parents to assess whether anything wrong is going on in kindergarten.
The argument to no is also pre-school scandals. From time to time, the media reports about "black sheep" among kindergarten staff, ladies screaming, beating and punishing children. The risk that a similar situation could happen to "my child" is so great that parents are afraid to enroll their daughter or son in kindergarten.
I want to have control over what my child eats
Full control over the child ends when you go to a childcare facility.
In kindergarten, parents have some influence on the menu, but it must be admitted that it is limited. The diet among many is controversial. Because how can you accept that so far healthy and diversely fed toddler comes in contact with margarine on sandwiches (present in most kindergartens), low-quality sausage, sausages, sweet cereals and milk for breakfast. There are also other controversial dishes such as liver, herring, sweet yogurt and other dishes that parents do not like. In many places, however, groats and legumes are not served, instead kids are rewarded with sweets.
The kindergarten has a bad effect on familiar children
The decision not to send to kindergarten also results from the fact that the observed children after going to kindergarten changed for the worse, became "rude", sad, withdrawn, began to cause problems. The influence of other children caused that the children gained new, not necessarily flattering skills, swearing, showing vulgar gestures, and interest in topics reserved for adults began.
Lack of hygiene
A child who stays at home can make sure that his nose is clean or his hands are clean before dinner. In the kindergarten, hygiene is not always approached so carefully. Toddlers often end up going to the toilet by clogging their shells with paper or handkerchiefs and squeezing the soap out of the dispenser. It is not uncommon to wash your hands by inserting your hand into the water jet and pulling it out quickly. Children watching their unwashed peers do the same. Not all ladies pay attention to what a child does after leaving the toilet, not necessarily from neglect, laziness, but from the lack of time and opportunity to look after every toddler.
Meanwhile, it is high hygiene that protects against most diseases.
It is difficult to get an individual approach to a child in kindergarten
The lady in the kindergarten takes care of a dozen or even several dozen children. It would be difficult for her to be as involved in caring as a mother with one or two at home. On the one hand, it's good because preschoolers learn independence, but on the other, they often feel threatened because of a lack of individual approach. They suffer because of insufficient attention, they try to be in the center at all costs, not necessarily reaching for flattering measures.
The child is not so "looked after"
Argument similar to the above. It is difficult to count on equally good care when you look after one child and when you need to keep an eye on your 20s.
Parents unwilling to send their child to kindergarten are of the opinion that the toddler is still too small to take care of themselves well enough, and even the best lady in kindergarten is not able to do it as properly as mother.
There are sick children in the kindergarten
This is one of the main arguments that preoccupies preschoolers' parents: ubiquitous diseases, starting with the usual runny nose and colds, through problems with the third almond, recurrent otitis media, pneumonia, and ending with embarrassing infections - pinworms, lice and others.
Kindergarten, like any public place, is a hotbed of various viruses, bacteria and parasites. In the kindergarten, new diseases hatch every now and again, not only because parents bring sick children for various reasons, but also because many diseases spread when the child has no disease symptoms. In this way, a toddler who begins to get sick even if he stays at home, is the source of the infection before the onset of disease symptoms.
Shameful diseases that are not talked about
Leading children to kindergarten is based to some extent on trust in parents and teaching staff. Unfortunately, not always the information that should be passed on to parents. Information about children's diseases, including infectious ones, and emotional and psychological problems are often hidden.
There are no perfect solutions. Kindergartens are not an exception in this topic. Enrolling your child in a good institution helps minimize the risk of any unpleasant experiences.
