Mother on a diet = obese child?

Women who are slimming during the period when they are applying for a child are at risk of raising a child prone to obesity and diabetes of the second degree. Scientists from the University of Manchester have come to such conclusions.

Conducting tests on sheep, they noticed that those who at the time of conception received less food, later gave birth to lambs who were prone to excessive weight gain. For obvious reasons, no human tests have been conducted, but there is a presumption that this rule may also translate into changes in pregnant women and their children.
